Baltimore, Md. - CFG Community Bank and the Capital Funding Group family of companies are challenging institutions and companies throughout Maryland to meet or beat their $100,000 donation to the American Red Cross relief efforts for victims of the earthquake in Haiti.

"People are hurting and the Red Cross needs our support to help them," said Jack Dwyer, President of Capital Funding Group and Chairman of CFG Community Bank.  "We feel lucky to be able to provide support, but we need other folks to join in this effort.  This is about saving lives and supporting people who have lost absolutely everything."

The Capital Funding Group family of companies is also producing the CFG Rock and Recovery Concert - a Benefit for Haiti at The Bourbon Street Ballroom (www.bourbonstreetbaltimore.com) in Baltimore, MD this Saturday, January 23 at 7pm.  Tickets are $10 and all proceeds from the event will go to the Red Cross to help their efforts in Haiti.  Tickets are available at www.missiontix.com.

"This challenge gift by CFG Community Bank and the Capital Funding Group is a pace-setter," said Red Cross of Central Maryland Executive Director Frank Miller.  "Strong leadership means making a contribution--and also taking the extra step to enlist others in this mission of compassion."

CFG will present the $100,000 contribution to the American Red Cross during the show the Saturday night, which features Jimmie's Chicken Shack and The All Mighty Senators and local favorites Fiction 20 Down and Free Lobster Buffet.
